A memorial plaque on the building that once used to be the Husar club

Husar club was founded by the Club of Friends of popluar music Rijeka in 1957. In Husar, young people gathered to "dance from the LP record". Since 1962 in the club performed first rock bands in Rijeka. The club has been operating until 1964 and is considered the first disco club in Croatia and one of the first in Europe. The founding of this club announced the creation of the rock and disco culture movement as a counterculture in the socialist Yugoslavia.
