The "Ex.Oriente.Lux" film archive has been involved in several major exhibitions over the last 20 years that adressed alternative scenes and arts in the GDR. The most notable of these included "Bohemianism and dictatorship in the GDR from 1970-1989" (1997 in the German Historical Museum Berlin), "Berlin-Moscow / Moscow-Berlin 1950-2000" (2003/04 Martin-Gropius-Bau, Berlin, and in the Russian State Museum in Moscow).
It has also participated in the Karlsruhe Center for Art and Media’s "40 years of video art in Germany" project. Recently, it supplied materials to "Oppositional voices: Art in the GDR from 1976-1989" in Martin-Gropius-Bau and to the exhibition "Notes form the underground" in Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, Poland.
